BRUCE HURLEY'S "FOUR COINS" PUZZLE = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I don't know if this one's difficult or simple, but it came to me when I was fiddling with some coins while I was on hold.

You have four identical coins and a flat surface--nothing else. Without just "eyeballing" it, how can you arrange three of the coins so that they form a perfectly straight line?

You can't use the edge of the table and the coins have to lie flat.

"FOUR COINS" PUZZLE SOLUTION = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Well, this is one solution, anyway. There may be more!

Press the four coins together as below so that the two inside coins touch all three other coins:

Then carefully remove one of the center coins:

Then carefully replace that coin so that it is touching the two coins on the left side.

The three coins at bottom will then be perfectly aligned.

Got a problem with my solution? Came up with another way to do it? Please let me know.
